Payment
How does the payment process work?
If you place an order with NovaTomato, you can complete the payment following the steps after you add the products to the cart.
When a customer submits an order to your online store, the order is automatically imported into NovaTomato. If you already added a billing method, your default payment method will be charged for said orders. If you haven’t added the billing methods, the orders’ status is unpaid from your Dashboard>Orders , and you’ll need to complete the payment manually. Once the payment is confirmed and received, the order is sent to production. Click here to learn how to add the billing methods.
What payment methods are accepted?
Currently, we accept payment via PayPal, Debit or Credit Card.
Why isn’t my payment being processed?
Please ensure your browser is not blocking pop-ups, as this can prevent payment processing. You may need to disable your AdBlock or pop-up blocker temporarily.
If you still can’t fix the problem, please contact our Customer Care for help.

Duty & Taxes
Who pays the customs duties?
If the order is eligible for any customs duties, the amount will be included within taxation as part of the order total on the checkout page. Taxation is the sum of the customs duty and sales tax.
What is Sales Tax?
This does not constitute professional tax advice. We strongly advise consulting a tax specialist to find out your specific obligations.
A sales tax is a consumption tax imposed by the government on the sale of certain products and services. Items sold and shipped to delivery addresses within the United States are liable for the sales tax set by each respective state’s government. The retailer is responsible for collecting the sales tax at the point of sale and passing it on to the government.
Does the product price include tax?
No, the product price on the NovaTomato website doesn't include sales tax. The applicable sales tax will be calculated as part of taxation in the order total at the checkout page of an order.
How does NovaTomato calculate the sales tax?
Sales tax is calculated based on the shipping address. The sales tax rate is different in each state, and within each state, it varies by county, city, and district.
On NovaTomato, it will be calculated based on the local state policies in the United States. Generally, it is calculated based on product price and/or shipping price. The applicable sales tax will be calculated as part of taxation in the order total.
Do international sellers have to charge Sales Tax?
Yes. Even if you are not physically located in the United States, you may still have an economic nexus, inventory nexus, or another type of nexus, meaning you may have to collect sales tax. You can learn more here.
What is a resale certificate?
A resale certificate lets retailers buy products without paying sales tax if they plan to resell them. This means that retailers who sell NovaTomato products with a sales tax permit can apply for a resale certificate. If you have a resale certificate for a specific state, you can submit it to us. Once it is approved, we will stop charging you sales tax for that state, but it will be your responsibility to collect the tax from the customer when you sell the item. Please refer to the link here to learn more. And we recommend you reach out to a tax specialist for more advice.
How do I submit a resale certificate?
If you have a resale certificate, NovaTomato will not charge you with sales tax. You can submit the resale certificate to NovaTomato under Dashboard>Resale Certificate. We'll review your application within 3~5 working days and let you know by email whether it's valid or if you need to re-submit it. Once the reseller certificate is verified as valid, NovaTomato will not charge you sales tax on any subsequent orders so long as the documentation has not expired.
